Kid-Friendly Paradise at Novotel Phuket Surin Beach
Does it get any more kid-friendly than this? The Novotel Phuket Surin Beach Resort has created a hot spot for families looking to enjoy a holiday in Phuket, Thailand. It starts with their Siam Adventure Club, but goes far, far beyond that. Whether your kids are 2 or 12, or even 22, your family will be entertained to the max at the Novotel Surin.

About Novotel Phuket Surin Beach
Surin beach itself is incredible. It’s known as “millionaire’s row” because tons of celebrities choose to vacation here (case in point, we saw a huge mega yacht anchored off the shore of the beach!). One stop at the beach and you will see why everyone loves it here. The beach is naturally beautiful with huge boulders bordering the north and south ends of the beach, there are lush green hill that rise up from the ocean, and the homes that dot the hills have perfect views of the sunset every night!
The great thing about the location of the Novotel Surin is that it’s a super quick walk to the beach and also adjacent to several Thai restaurants and a cafe! It’s located just off the beach along the main road in Surin. So, you can chose to explore Surin or explore the hotel. Either way, you will have a great time!
From the moment you walk in the door here, you will notice that this hotel is built for families.
The rooms are super kid-friendly. We stayed in a 1-bedroom family suite. It had a living area with daybed that was perfect for Liesel, complete with princess bedding! There was a separate room for us to sleep in. We almost didn’t know what to do with all the space! Also, all the rooms face inward to the pool area. If that doesn’t get the whole family out of bed in the morning, I don’t know what will (except maybe their delicious brunch)!
Outside your hotel room, there are kid-friendly amenities in almost every direction.
What to do
For starters, the thing that differentiates Novotel Surin from its neighbors in Phuket is the Siam Adventure Club. This is a kids club that’s not just limited to the physical play space st the hotel. It’s an adventure mindset! Through the kids club, children can participate in daily activities throughout the hotel. Think foam parties, cupcake decorating and jewelry making. There’s also a spa for kids, because kids need pampering too! There’s a movie theater, arcade, on-site ice cream shop, and candy / toy store combo all in the lobby. To top it off, their elephant mascot, Elfie, makes appearances throughout the day to give high fives! Every night around dinner time, there’s an activity for kids (bingo, dance parties, etc).
When they get hungry, the options for kids are incredible. The breakfast spread is huge, complete with elephant-shaped pancakes and sprinkles. Later in the day, the kids menu for lunch and dinner does not disappoint. It’s an entire multi-page menu just for kids, complete with mocktails! Novotel Surin even steps it up a notch with Mickey Mouse plates and kid-friendly utensils.
The outdoor area is just as much fun as the inside. There are two pools and huge water slides. The staff will even give you a blue mat for the water slide to help you slide down extra fast! There are foam parties at the pool a couple times per week, and the Wow Cow ice cream cart comes out most afternoons to serve up delicious desserts after working up an appetite at the pool.
When choosing a place to stay we always look for
Where we can stock up on kid essentials (diapers and milk)
Where we can get grown up essentials (coffee)
What’s nearby or how do we get around?
Is this place a good value?
Here’s how Novotel Phuket Surin Beach Resort delivered:
Where to find diapers and milk: There is a Family Mart with milk and diapers about 4 doors south of the Novotel Surin. It’s small and basic but does the trick. You can visit on your way to/from the beach so it’s super convenient!
Where to get your caffeine fix: Novotel’s got you covered here. There’s a cafe in lobby that makes espresso drinks and also offers a few pastries. If you need to stretch your legs a bit, there are also a few restaurants, and my personal favorite, The 9th Glass Wine Bar, just a few hundred meters from the hotel.
Getting around: It depends on where you’re going. You can walk to the beach or a few shops / restaurants, but if you’re going farther you can always book an Uber or grab at a reasonable rate. Keep in mind that if you book a day trip or excursion, they will usually include a transfer (car) to / from the destination so you won’t need to worry about it.
Value: Rooms at Novotel Surin start around $60 USD / night. It doesn’t get much more reasonable than that! On top of that, the rooms and hotels were very clean (which is huuuuge for us as a traveling family)!
The bottom line
If you are looking for kid-friendly and laid back, you'll love it here at Novotel Phuket Surin Beach. There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained without leaving the resort! Surin beach is nearby and slightly less busy than it's lively neighbor to the south, Patong. While there are fewer cafes and shops in walking distance, you'll love relaxing here!
Note: Accommodations were provided by Novotel Surin, but opinions are always my own!
